Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026.

This policy explains how the Islamic Economics website of Dr. Waquar Anwar at waquaranwar.com uses information when you read articles, browse books, follow links or contact us. Browsing the website does not by itself give consent to optional analytics.

Privacy at a glance

  • You can read the website without accepting analytics.
  • Google Analytics starts only after you choose “Allow analytics”.
  • “Necessary only” keeps optional analytics off. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings”.
  • Stylesheets and icons are served by this website; text uses fonts available on your device.

Necessary browser storage

We store whether you allow analytics, together with the time you made that choice, in your browser's local storage under waquar.analytics-consent.v1. We treat a choice as valid for 180 days and ask again after it expires. The stored record remains on your device until it is replaced or cleared. It is used to respect your choice and is not sent to Google. If your browser blocks local storage, your choice applies to the current page and you may be asked again on another page.

An older version of the site used cookieMsg to remember that its informational notice had been dismissed. That record is not permission for analytics and is removed when a new choice is successfully saved.

Optional Google Analytics

If you select “Allow analytics”, we load Google Analytics 4 on waquaranwar.com and www.waquaranwar.com to understand website usage and improve the content. Google Analytics is not loaded before your choice or if you select “Necessary only”. Local development hosts do not send analytics data.

Analytics information may include pages viewed, interactions, browser and device information, approximate location and cookie-based identifiers. We do not describe this information as necessarily anonymous. Google receives network information when your browser contacts its services. Our implementation disables Google signals and advertising personalisation signals and keeps advertising consent denied.

After consent, Google Analytics can set cookies such as _ga and _ga_F5CKWZC75X. The site configures analytics cookie expiry to 180 days; expiry can be refreshed when analytics runs. Analytics data held by Google is subject to the property's retention settings and Google's policies; browser cookie expiry is separate from server-side retention.

These analytics cookies help distinguish visits and maintain session information. They are optional. We do not require advertising cookies to read the website.

Your choices

You can read the content whether you allow analytics or not. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer on any page to change your choice. Selecting “Necessary only” stops this site's future analytics collection, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site, and reloads the page if analytics was running. It does not erase data already collected. You can also clear site storage in your browser.

Your choice applies to the browser and website origin where you make it. Different devices, browser profiles, or the www and non-www addresses may have separate preferences. Clearing browser storage can cause the notice to appear again. Refusing analytics does not prevent the resource requests needed to display the website or the processing that occurs when you choose to visit an external website.

External services and links

Article search runs in your browser. It downloads the article list and generated text index from this website when you first search, with article documents fetched only as a fallback, then keeps searchable text in memory for that page visit. Opening a search result includes your search terms in the URL fragment (the part after #highlight=) to highlight matches in the article. Fragments are not sent with HTTP requests, and our Analytics page-location values exclude them. Sharing that article link also shares the search terms. We do not explicitly send queries to Google Analytics or an external search provider. Hosting logs may record the article requests needed to provide search results.

Stylesheets and the icon font are served locally by this website. Text uses system fonts, so displaying the website does not require requests to external font or stylesheet providers. Video, social-network, publisher and retailer links open external websites, which apply their own privacy policies. Videos are linked rather than embedded in this website.

Google processes analytics information under its service terms and privacy policies, potentially in countries outside your own. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Hosting and contact

The web server or hosting provider may maintain access and security logs containing information such as request times, IP addresses and requested URLs. These logs are separate from Google Analytics; their retention depends on the hosting configuration. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message and contact details needed to respond.

We use information provided in correspondence to respond to your enquiry. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for us to help you.

Privacy requests

Depending on the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. You may also be entitled to complain to the relevant privacy regulator. Withdrawing analytics consent does not affect processing that already took place.

For privacy questions, requests about your information, or details of current retention settings, contact admin@waquaranwar.com. Available privacy rights depend on the laws that apply to you and the website operator.
